Meet Pablo Ugalde: Enriching Our Research Team with Mathematical and Biotechnological Expertise!
We’re thrilled to introduce Pablo Ugalde as the newest addition to our team!
Pablo’s solid foundation in mathematical engineering and his Ph.D. in microbiology and biotechnology provide abundant knowledge and expertise that ensures greater success to our projets.
Across continents, Pablo’s academic journey has unfolded, shaping his perspective and approach to research, from graduating in Mathematical Engineering at the Universidad de Chile to earning a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of Montpellier in France. His research in mathematical models of microbial community dynamics and his dedication to the concept of environmental biorefinery are great examples of his innovative spirit and commitment to sustainable practices.
Following his Ph.D., Pablo embarked on a postdoctoral fellowship at the Centre INRAE of the University of Bordeaux, where he delved into statistical learning and bioinformatics. Collaborating with microbiologists, chemists, physicists, and process engineers, Pablo has cultivated a comprehensive grasp of intricate biological systems, notably in the analysis of metabolic networks.
Since Pablo joined us in January 2024, his interdisciplinary approach and collaborative mindset, complemented by his proficiency in mathematical plasticity and informatics, seamlessly blend into our iMEAN team.
